Amplifier Stand

Amplifier stand

Build your own amp stand. I did.

I made this guitar amp stand using a design on instructables.com as my guide. It is a linken log style design which I have found to be

  • incredibly strong
  • durable
  • transportable
  • easy to set up and break down

It easily holds my 36kg (80 lbs) 2 X 12 Peavey Combo Amp with me leaning on it or even sitting on it!

The timber is just scrap plywood that was lying around. A bit of measuring, sawing, sanding and painting was all it took. All I had was a blunt old hand saw so it took a couple of hours of sweating and swearing to cut it all out. But it was worth it.

As it hardly weighs anything and stacks nice and flat, I just leave it in the boot (trunk) of the car for taking to gigs.
